Ways YOU Can Partner with Us

CONNECT the ministry with your church. Church partnerships are very important to us. We believe that through long-term relationships and partnerships, these partnerships will benefit not only the children and families we work with, but also the church partner by giving them a chance to be a vital part of what God is doing in Uganda. Connect us to your community through rotary clubs, schools, businesses, fair trade events, etc. Connect us with your friends and family on social media and through bible studies. Please email Sara at sara@rafikiministries.org if you are interested in arranging for someone to come and speak at your church or group.

There are many ways that your church, small group, youth group, or children’s ministry can be a part of the ministry. They can sponsor one or more children  (cost: $35 per month, per child). The church can hold a fundraising event such as dinner, Sunday church service, or yearly event to help Rafiki Africa Ministies raise money to build on the ministry land.

Even children in your church can get involved through Vacation Bible School fundraisers. There are so many creative ways for kids to compete to see which group can raise the most money. You could even give a special prize to the winner: giving the kids a chance to dunk their pastor in a water dunk tank for example.

Sara Hamilton Barugahare is available throughout the year to travel to speak to supporters, raise awareness, and fundraise for the ministry. As she lives full-time in Uganda, she is available through Zoom to speak with individuals, small groups, and even Sunday church services. If you would like to have her share with your church or group please contact sara@rafikiminsitries.org

PRAY for the ministry and orphans in Uganda. ”Brothers and sisters, pray for us.” (1 Thessalonians 5:25) We do not have enough words to thank those of you who have come alongside of Rafiki to pray for us. Rafiki could not function without prayer. Here are some ways to be lifting up the Rafiki family in prayer:

For health as the children are growing and healing from sicknesses. For the children to get stronger everyday.

For protection against the evil one and spiritual warfare.

For their hearts as we are raising them to learn about the Lord’s unending love and grace for each of us, for them to know that they are loved deeply and have great worth.

For our staff that each day God may fill their cups so they can pour out love to each child. For our team to be unified in spirit, making it    capable of functioning to the best of our ability.

For our families and children in our family reunification program, that God will foster a new generation of loving parents that are raising their children in the ways of the Lord.

For foster and adoptive families to rise up in Uganda to love and care for the children that need a forever home.

For the provision of finances so our ministry can continue being in the lives of children and communities here in Uganda for long into the future.

For wisdom as we are allowing the Lord to grow us and make a bigger impact here in Uganda.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6-7)

GIVE financially. 2nd Corinthians 8:3-4 says, “For I testify that they gave as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability. Entirely on their own, they urgently pleaded with us for the privilege of sharing in this service to the Lord’s people.”

SERVE on the mission field and come to Uganda. We believe in having a network of churches that can continue to send mission teams to Uganda every year or two. This allows the church to continue to build relationships with the same people every year, and to actually be partnered with us in ministry. This means the church can be on a journey with us to advance God’s kingdom. Teams can participate in children’s ministry, church leadership training, men’s and women’s discipleship, building and construction, education training, and agriculture development.

“We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.” (Romans 12:6-8)

SPEAK UP and tell their story. What a simple way of obeying God’s instruction to us about the poor…simply tell their story. Proverbs 31:8-9 says “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.”
